Kieran Hughes was born in St Annes, Lancashire. Studied Art & Design at Leeds Polytechnic, Psychology at UCL. Painting, Religious themes, landscapes and portraits.

As a design graduate I worked initially as an illustrator, working in design and advertising. In 1987 I joined the BBC as a broadcast designer working in Current Affairs, over ten years designing on-screen graphics, opening titles and channel idents for re-branding and channel start-ups, acquiring a strong technical knowledge in film directing, TV transmission and production.
Further broadcast experience at Canal+ Madrid, BSkyB, NBC Europe and ITN. London, Madrid, New York City and Washington DC.
More recently, painting full time including large-scale portraits, landscapes, religious art and life painting.
Following the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010, I have visited the country several times.
